Home
Wheaton and Sweeney's concept of what home is builds on the notion of "home" being a comfort, not a location. The metaphor of how home is not how a roof keeps out the storm but "keeps in the blight" suggests that this thing we call home is not necessarily shielded from external forces and therefore, we're just as vulnerable in the most comfortable, prettiest of places but it's the fact that we're vulnerable with one another in this trusted space that makes all the difference. The idea that we learn and grow in a home reinforces not being on one's best behavior when at home but learning from mistakes and growing from them. Therefore, home is where we are free to become. Ultimately, home is where the heart is because we all will have roofs over our heads, but without love within them, no structure will ever mean anything.
A crackling fire makes you feel as if...
All of these little things that make you feel like home is love with every stroke... The fleeting minutes that are seconds to consume.
It's the sound of time lost that tells you, you never have to worry, here.
Every room has something to say.
The glad tidings of memories made, or great sorrow.
It's where you put down roots and navigate once again.
Home is where you'll always be rooted.
It's more than just a location, it's the sentiment.
Wherever you are treasured, the decoration of a heart.
Wherever you stay, wherever you explore.
The galaxy will forever bring you home.
