HOME

Home is a place where you feel safe, confident, and you can truly be yourself. Home can be anything, your family, your friends, the country where you’re from, or the city. But sometimes you’re far away from home. Sometimes you live in fear that your home can be taken. Or your family can die any minute. Sometimes you need to leave your home and don’t even say “goodbye”, and when you come back you have nothing. You don’t have your family, you don’t have your friends, and you don’t have a place to live in. I live in fear every day that my home can be ruined. I worry that when I come back there’s nothing in the place where I lived, that I won’t have anything left. That my family can die. Canada is not my home. But Ukraine is, and also my home is occupied right now. I can’t come back home because there’s war. I have lived in Canada for almost 3 years, and now Canada is my second home. Here I’ve got a house to live in, friends, and an amazing school. I love Canada very much, but I still want my country to live in peace.
