My Home

Some kids may see a home as a structure where they can eat and sleep. A home is a feeling that takes place in your heart. My home is where I can be my inner self. My home is my safe space. Whatever my home looks like, messy or clean, I can always find peace. The laughter of my mischievous brother bounces off the walls, the sweet aroma of my mother's baking wafts through the halls, the gentle sounds of the soft clicking on the keyboard of my father answering calls. My home is where I am loved, safe and included. My home might not have hearts on the wall everywhere. It certainly has hearts in the air so I can breathe the love and the care. My home is the place that carries the memories we've made over the years, just like the stone age people long ago. Even they had memories and a HOME where they could feel loved. You can buy furniture with red and pink hearts. But you will never be happy. Because you will never feel loved. A home can be a pet or a person. And please enter the contest and donate to Habitat for Humanity. Everybody needs memories and a home. Remember, just like if you throw a small pebble into a lake, it will make a big splash. Your $10 can get a roof over someone for the first time. So, what does home mean to you, Dear reader?
