The Meaning of Home

A home is not a building. It's a place where you spread laughter and kindness. It's a place where you can hear the sound of the popping popcorn that your dad is making. Home is where you see the pictures on the wall of your vacations or family gatherings. A house is just an ordinary building with walls and a roof. A home is the sound of you and your brother skating on your outdoor rink. Home is the smell of your moms favorite pumpkin spice candle. It's the sound of your baby's toy rattling and banging. A home is the soft feel of your pet's fur or the taste of your mom’s homemade pumpkin pie. A house is just lonely and sad. A home has everything a family wants. A home is also outside where the fireplace is and we always roast marshmallows and look at the stars. You can just hear the fire crackling. It's such a peaceful and enjoyable time. That's what home means to me.
