A Home isn't a House

Home isn’t just the structure, but the people who live there Its filled with food, love, peace, joy and arguments It can be even filled with laughter or even glares Home can be the start of many lives from different continents Chinese heritage comes from my home and I am proud of that With such delicious foods from my culture and the flavours are blended We celebrate Chinese New Year at home by having chats The place we call home is where traditions are descended I have such amazing siblings and we end our days with laughter and joy Especially my little brother who is so silly and adorable My little sister who is so cute and precious and oh boy My parents who are amazing at their job and humble To me, home is where you can relax in peace on your bed or on your couch Home is where people start as youth Home is where no one is a grouch The place we call home is where the people know the truth Love fills a home with God’s children At home, there are different feelings and expressions There could be different pets such as little kittens There could be many things happening in succession Overall, home is a wild and roaring zoo But the love inside of it from families Your family who lives there who supports you But soon, the people there might leave They might start a new chapter of their life in a new home The love from a home can never be taken away Even if you go somewhere else to roam You’ll still remember the good times you’ve had every single day It takes years to build a safe, loving, and comfortable home You don’t just walk in and expect it to be filled with warmth and comfort There won’t be anything in the front yard, flower beds and gnomes When you’re with the people who matter most, you know they come first When you feel like you’re climbing Mount Crumpit Your family is there to talk you through it When you feel like there’s the weight of the world on your shoulders The people you love most will still help you even when you get older Home can be at school, with your friends and your teachers Home can be in a field, hearing the crickets chirping Home can be filled with people with different features Home can be in a place where you are loving In conclusion, home is where you feel your safest It shouldn’t be a place where you feel depressed It’s a place where you feel your bravest Home is a place where feelings are expressed
