What Home Means to Me

The difference between a house and a home Is… well I’ll tell you in this little poem A house is somewhere with a roof and four walls A building of bricks standing tall A home is somewhere filled with joy and love Where you wake up to the sound of a morning dove A home and a house aren’t the same at all A house is a structure like a store or a mall Your house is somewhere to decorate Your home is somewhere to celebrate What reminds me of home is my dog, J.P. We snuggle at night and he comforts me A house is somewhere that protects you from wind and rain Your home is a place that helps heal your pain When I think of my home, I see family and friends Safe and happy, a bond that never ends To me, a house can be empty and cold But a home is always warm, full of memories, new and old. And that’s why they say ‘home is where the heart is’.
