My home, my sanctuary

I love my home and here is why My home is a place where I can reside and fly You may think a home and a house are the same but that is simply not true It isn’t just a place where there's a drawing on the fridge of a family you drew. A home is a place where love is all you can see. But a house is a location surrounded by trees A home, ever so warm and cozy, Even when your siblings are being nosey. A house, empty and cold, A mere structure, a story not told. A home is a place you will remember for the rest of your days While a house may be in your memory just until May. Now you know, a home's not just some random place, Let me tell you more about this amazing space. Unlock the door with a gentle click, Now you're inside, that's so quick. The entrance, though small is important, you see, The place to put your shoes and hang your coats, for you and me. I love watching TV with friends and family, Under a thick blanket, all warm and cozy. The living room is a toasty place to rest With no worries about any type of test The bathroom, a place where secrets unfold, A story unspoken, a tale untold. A location to ponder, where thoughts take their flight, A spot of silence, bathed in warm light. Through the kitchen window the sun streams, With the amazing scent of your mom's homemade blueberry pie, It’s so delicious that it seems like those from dreams. In the bedroom, you rest peacefully inside. A place so comforting with a nightlight beside. A place of relief, where dreams begin to soar, with sleep gently knocking at the door. But in the end, this one thing is true, A home is a place where love shines through. This leaves me to believe that everyone deserves a home, and now you know why…
