A House vs A Home

You walk into a home welcomed by warm smiles and safety, You walk in on a mat or hardwood floor, but it still feels steady like it is being supported by your loved ones. You walk into a house welcomed by sacredness and unclear of who respects you. You may step on ground that seems stable to everyone else, but it feels unstable to you. Likewise, you're welcomed into a home by the waving of hands or the smell of something in the oven or a new scented candle. You're welcomed into a house with shaky hands and watching your every step. You lay down in a home with trust and respect for everyone around you and yourself. You lay down in a house being nervous and uncomfortable. You trust your home like no matter how much you fall it will catch you. You trust your house like you're walking on a thin rope with nothing to catch you. Always try to be someone's home, not their house. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for helping everyone have a home.
