The Meaning of Home

For me, the meaning of home describes a place where I feel safe and welcome. It’s not just a place to eat, sleep, and bathe but it’s a place with love, safety and family. I know that my home is full of love because my parents make sure to check in on me before I go to bed. They make sure that I have my favorite meal once a week. Every time I’m upset, they make sure that I’m okay. I feel most loved when my parents give me a hug and they say that they love me. I feel most safe in my home when my parents lock the door at night. I also feel safe when I hear something outside at night and my dad reassures me that everything is okay! I feel safe knowing that my family members are safe people. I also feel safe because my family keeps me safe from other people. The most important thing in my home is my family! My family is the most important thing in my home because they create the love throughout my home. If I didn’t have my family, then I wouldn’t have any love in my home. My family is also important to me because they spent time with me. That’s what the meaning of home is to me. It’s not just the things they buy me or the things they provide for me it’s my family being there for me. It’s the love they spread through my house that makes it feel like a home. Most importantly they make me feel safe when I’m scared, or I feel unsafe!
