The Home I Have
Many people think a house and a home are the same thing.
They are actually very different. These are all the reasons why.
You see, love is in both, but a house’s is contained. A home’s love can roam wild, free and is capable of going anywhere. A house is a contained space but a home is something more. A house is just a building, a home is bigger. A home has love, family, laughter, sadness and most importantly God and Jesus. A home is somewhere where your dreams can run free. Dancing and twirling up in the sky. A home is always safe, no matter what.
Furthermore, even though you might move houses, your home will stay the same. Many people have had multiple houses but only one home. A home is somewhere where your dreams can run free. When I moved, I thought I lost my home, but then I remembered a house is not a home.
Additionally, many people think untrue things. That a house and a home need each other to thrive. A home can be filled with fragrances, sweet, sour and bitter too. Dancing through the air and into my nose, tickling me with the feeling of love.
Now you know the reasons why house and home are different. Remember, a house is just a building. A home has feelings and aromas. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for building safe homes for people who don’t have them, and for creating this contest so that we can see what a home is to other people. Remember, a home is not a house.
