To me, home is the feelings The silliness at the the table The clear confusion in conversations The happiness in our faces It’s a spot to be ourselves To make a mess as big as the sea while baking To craft potions in the sink with soap and food dye To wear crazy outfits and not get judged My home means the memories The times when we went on big trips When we found out we were getting 2 dogs And when we moved into our new house My home is the food The Annie’s Mac and cheese or Kraft dinner from my dad The burnt grilled cheese from my mom Baked goods from my sister Home is love The strong words of encouragement The awkward dad jokes to try to cheer me up The little “I love you” that means much more than it sounds
