If home were my five senses

“Home is more than a place that is created by ourselves with love and care. Whereas a house is only built with bricks or stones. It is a feeling and a collection of precious moments, stored in the walls.” These bring me joy, warmth and comfort. Each of our senses plays a role in shaping what home means to us. If a home were a sight, I could see the beautiful sunrise appear in front of my eyes with a sky full of gorgeous gold and pink shades. This sight reminds me of peaceful mornings spent with my mom and dad comforting and preparing me for a day ahead. If a home were to smell, I could smell our traditional food, especially “Biryani” that my mom loves to cook, yummy in my tummy! The smell alone brings back memories of love, unity, and shared meals that strengthen my bond. If a home were a taste, I could taste the sweetness of freshly baked cake straight out from the oven. The flavors of the cake bring love and excitement, reminding me of special celebrations like my birthday with family and friends. It gives me the simple pleasures of feeling connected and cherishing sweet memories with my loved ones. If a home were a sound, I could hear the cheerful voices of my mom and dad chatting and laughing together ’’hee hee”. Their giggles and playful conversations welcome a friendly place, create happiness and a feeling of belonging. If a home were a touch, I could feel the wonderful soft hugs and kisses from my mom and dad! Their love is comforting, makes me feel safe, protected, and at peace. It reminds me that love is the foundation of everything. Honestly, I believe there is a sixth sense too! Something I wouldn't see, hear or touch, but something I just know, deep down. It is an invisible feeling pulling me back where I belong and feel loved - Mom, dad and my family. This is what a home means to me, a place of love, joy, laughter and shared feelings. However, not everyone in this world is blessed with a home of their own and surrounded by their loved ones. Thank you for supporting families with shelter, care, comfort and hope for those who are in need. Everyone deserves a comforting place to call their own home.
