The Meaning of Home
Home is like a warm embrace, reaching out to you like open inviting arms. Comforting you after a rough day. A home is more than just four walls and a roof. A home is a place where memories are made, and where laughs are shared. A home is where your roots are. If you put me in a cave, it would still be home to me if my family was there with me. My home is a place where I can rest, knowing that tomorrow will be a new day. Sad and happy memories have been made, and will be made in a home. Edmonton will always be my home. People can take me out of my home, but the reminiscence of my home will always be with me. A home is something I am thankful for. After school, I can smell the sweet aroma of my Mom cooking in the kitchen. I can see my Dad doing important work. I can hear music playing. I can taste the food I devour eagerly. Most of all, I can feel all of the love reverberating around my home. A home may be a structure we live in, but it’s also more than that. Much more. A home is a community. A home is a place where you can be your true self. After all, a house is made out of wood, metal, and beams. A home is made of memories, love, and dreams. No matter where I am, across the world, or across the street, I’ll always remember my home. You’re always tied to your home in ways you cannot see. I will always remember how grateful I am for the home that shelters me from the whipping winds, and bitter cold snow. While thunderstorms make trees rock, me and my parents can always be safe and happy in our home.
