My POV: A House and a Home

If someone asked me what a house was, I’d say it’s a structure with a foundation and walls. A place that provides shelter. A place in which you can sleep and eat. But if you came along and asked me what a home was, I’d say it’s a place that’s free of fear, a place in which no one sheds a tear. It’s a place that’s full of cheer, a place where everyone’s mind is clear. A place where you can spill the beans, a place where you can have wild dreams. A place where smiles cover people’s faces, and a place that offers many safe spaces. A place where if you’re feeling down, someone will come over and give you a crown. A place where you can stand tall and proud, a place where you can cry out loud. A place where if you ever feel sad, no one will make you feel bad. It’s a place where you can release your stories from deep inside, the place where all your feelings hide. A house and a home are very different. This is the place and that is the feeling. A house can never be complete without a home. Roofs, walls, rooms, floors, you’ll still be missing the vital core. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for helping people face calamities. Thank you for not leaving anyone behind, instead leaving communities more refined!
