What Does Home Mean to Me?

Many people think that home is something material, but if I've learned something it is that a home is not four walls and a roof. Home is somewhere you feel safe, somewhere where you feel like all your problems do not exist. Home is somewhere with the people you love the most. Home to me is where I feel the warmth of my house, the smell of my mom's cooking, the sound of the TV when my dad is watching, and the barking of my dogs. These things are what make me feel at home. The laughter when me and my family play board games in the living room on Fridays. I remember leaving my childhood in Colombia behind, my friends and my family. It hurt badly, but here, I feel at home because I am with the people I love the most, the people who are there for me no matter what!
