What Home Means To Me

Whenever I walk through the door at home a dormant little blaze in me springs to life. When I’m at home I feel a relaxed sensation, almost like freedom. On a winter night I’m at home, snuggled warmly on the couch watching tv with my family, and feeling like my true self. Waking up on a Christmas morning and opening the presents with my mom and sister, there’s a festive resonance in the air. When I’m at home I feel happy and free. At night when it’s time for bed I can sleep soundly knowing that I am safe and secure, home is a magical place for me. The summer is a vacation to paradise, spending time with my family and friends without worrying about school and grades. Having a nice cool shower after a hot day in the sun. Home is a safe place, a magical place, and a warm safe shelter.
