The Meaning Of Home

Home to me is where you are comfortable being yourself with the people around you. A home is not just a building, it’s an environment people need to develop and thrive happily. When you don’t have a home, you don’t have protection from the weather, and you don’t have a place that you know is safe. A home means you have shelter you can rely on that is sturdy and warm. It’s a place you have food, water, and a place to sleep. A home is a place where you have space. Space to have time to yourself, space to store the things that you own, and space to be free. Other people who don’t have homes don’t have any space or privacy, and can't bring special things they have with them. My home is a place where I have things that let me do what I like to do. I play the cello and love to play video games and read. I have a TV, nintendo switch, lots of books, a cello, and lots of other stuff. People who don’t have homes have almost nothing except a sleeping bag, blankets, and the bit of money they survive on. This is why Habitat for Humanity is so important because they build homes for people who can’t really afford other houses, and they bring the community together. Home to me is a place where I can be me. Playing mario party, Then watching TV, With my bunny, Eating cheese, In my home. Everyone deserves a home that they can call their own. Thank you Habitat for Humanity!
