The Meaning of a Home
A home is a safe place to stay. I live in two houses, and every Sunday I switch between the two places.
These are three things that make me feel welcome at my mom’s house: my fluffy blanket, my cloud like mattress that is really comfy and my colorful crochet yarn that I’m using to make a scarf.
Now it’s time for my dad’s house. These are three things that I like about my dad’s house. I like his video games, his fiesty cat named Peach, and his BIG tv.
Though both of the houses are great, I don’t like having to travel back and forth over and over again because, well… It just gives me a bit of stress. I like spending time with both my mom and my dad but I’m always with one or the other. I think it’s going to be a lot harder for my little sister because my step dad lives in Alberta, which is a long way away, so my little sister won’t see her dad very much.
Although I’m stressed out about travelling back and forth between houses, I’m still thankful that I get to live in a safe place. Some people struggle because they have to choose between having food or paying rent. That would be really stressful, too. I’m happy that I get to help someone else.
