A Feeling of Joy, Care and Love

Home isn’t just an average house, a building or someplace you can rest at night, home is also a place of joy, care and love. Home is a place where you feel safe and secure, for me when I get home, I get this warm tingly feeling inside like a big bear hug, when I’m at home my heart roars loudly with joy and when I smell freshly cooked shawarma it takes me down memory lane. Home is a place that doesn’t judge you, home is where sibling rivalry grows and makes beautiful memories, where love is unconditional even if you feel like you don’t deserve it. A place where you make fun memories with your mom in the kitchen or ask your dad what he does for a living because you keep forgetting. Home is also a place to make mistakes freely without being judged. It’s also a place where bad memories are formed but because of the unconditional love you bounce back from it, so this is a note to the reader “Home is where the heart is.” Thank you to Habitat Home for giving students the opportunity to make a little poem to help those in need of a place to call home.
