What Home Means to Me

What Home Means to Me When someone mentions home I think of family, memories and friends. My home isn’t just a structure, to me my home is way more than just a structure. My home is where I make memories, where I have fun and where I'm loved. To me my home is a beautiful part of my family and life. My home is where I grew up and is where I had my first feelings of connection . I have never moved homes before so I don't know the feeling of having to move, but I do have two homes so I have to go back and forth a lot. Sometimes it can be hard but it's all worth it and both homes feel equally as important to me. Sometimes it's nice to have a friend that also has two homes so you two can help each other out. What I'm trying to say is even if you have two homes or you live with one parent you should always have a sense of home and belonging. For some people it's hard to feel like they belong, but in my home, the biggest feeling I get is belonging. Every time I don't feel like I belong I think of how I have a home and a family, because some people don't have either of those things making me realise how fortunate I am. Some people get confused between home and house. A home is where you feel loved and like you belong, that's why home is more than just a structure. It’s a feeling. Jillian
