The Difference Between a Home and House
Is a home and house the same thing? No, it's not. A home is much more important than a house. Then, what is a home? A home is a place where you feel safe, happy and loved.
If you live somewhere where you don’t feel happy or safe it’s most likely not a home. A home is a place where you feel cheerful, sheltered and comfortable. Almost like you never want to leave. A home doesn’t have to be somewhere you live though. It can be a place you visit often or a place you rarely visit.
A home can also be a person or an object. A home doesn’t have to be just a place, it can be anything. It can even be a book. A home is kind of like a happy place, you feel happy around or with it. For me, my home or happy place is when I'm with my mom or dad. Another example is when I'm reading. You can tell that object, place or person is a home because you feel safe around them, you feel like you belong there, you feel happy there. Like you can just be yourself.
What if people don’t have a home? When people don’t have a home, it’s most likely they don't feel safe or joyful anywhere. People often don’t have a home when they are going through a tough time. The most you can do to help them is being kind to them, letting them be themself around you and making them smile! Let you be their home.
In all, a house and a home are two totally different things. A home is way more important than a house. You should be grateful if you have a home.
