Why I Love Home
Home is filled with love and laughter. Home is warm and cozy. We each have a favourite room or space that we like the most in our home.
My favourite room is our living room. This room is where I can relax, think and dream. Sometimes it can be loud and fun in the living room because it’s the room where I play and spend time with my cousins and friends!
My sister’s favourite room is her bedroom. It’s where she has her dollhouse and all her other toys. Her bed has all her plushies that she can snuggle with at night.
My brother’s favorite room is his bedroom too. He has a big desk with a computer and lots of books. He spends a lot of time in his room studying and sometimes playing on his computer.
My mom’s favourite room is the kitchen. She loves to cook and make delicious food for our family and friends. The kitchen always smells good and makes my stomach rumble! Often, there are lots of people in the kitchen, chatting and eating.
My dad’s favourite room is the small living room. My dad meditates and prays in that room. It’s a peaceful and quiet space for him. I can always smell incense when I walk past that room. This room is also me and my sister’s favourite room during Christmas because this is where we have the Christmas tree and open all our gifts together.
My cat’s favourite space is her cat corner by the stairs going up the living room. She has her sleeping bed and her scratching post there. When it's bright and sunny, the sun shines in her little corner and I often lay next to her.
When we have family and friends visiting, everyone gathers in the family room. And on my family's traditional day like blessed rainy day, we all sit in a circle, sharing stories, eating, and even singing. Sometimes, the grownups will also do traditional Bhutanese dances in a circle and the kids always have fun trying to join in the circle.
Home is a safe and special place where you spend time with the people you love.
