Home

The word ‘home’ is different for everyone. To some people it is a place they might love or feel safe. When people hear the word “home’’ people refer to a loving, safe, and kind environment. People do not realize that a lot of homes may not be what they think, maybe they are not a very safe place for people. When they come home, they might hear fighting or come home to a place that is not necessarily good for them. For some people like me, they have good memories in their home like taking their first steps or talking for the first time! I love my home. I can hear the crackle of popcorn on movie nights, and the stove fan when we are making dinner. I hear the rain on stormy days then I fall asleep. I can taste the fresh, homemade pancakes on my birthday. I can taste my parents' fresh cooking every day, and it tastes like home. When I come home, I go to check on my dog and she is often fast asleep. I pet her, then I come upstairs to turn the fireplace on when it is cold, then I wait for my mom to come home. I feel the warmth of the fireplace and head to my room where I light a candle and cuddle up in my bed. That is what home is to me! What does your home mean to you?
