My House

My house smells like old books and baking, love drifting and family talking. My house has hugs and kisses, friendship and traditions. My house is where we navigate through ups and downs, fights and forgiveness. We chose the paths of life in the walls of my house. My house has my father's protection and strength, my mother's love and happiness, my sister's playfulness and laughter, my dog's voice and my creativity and mind. My house is like a hug, warm and snug. That's what makes a home. Not a place but where your heart is. My heart is with my family. That's what I hold dearest in my heart. I've cried a million times but my house comforts me with it's warmth. So, I'm writing this poem for those without a home. But some advice you don't need a home to be happy because if you're with your loved ones then you're already home.
