My Heart is My Home

Home is not a place, it's a feeling. Of love, hope, comfort, or even sadness or remorse. This is because home is a lot like a heart. The memories you share, the love you feel, but sometimes even the heart hurts. Multiple feelings are found at home which is okay since the heart doesn't only experience love. A heart may feel a lot but a heart never changes nor does my home. I might change, my family might change, and my location might change. The people I love might change, my feelings might change, but a heart is made for these things for comfort, safety and feelings. My home does exactly just that. There are some things that both a house and home have. A house is built on a foundation so is my home. A home is built on memories. The tender moments I will never forget like the time me and my siblings watched the sunset on the trampoline, when me and my family burned cookies, and even the faintest memory of my grandparents visiting from Nigeria. These memories, moments, experiences are all a part of the foundation of home. The people you love are also an important part of a home foundation. I remember the summers I slept over in my sister's room and we would talk late at night about almost everything. I can rely on her to always have a place to talk. Praying around the dinner table with my family no matter where I go I'll always have a place to come back to. The people I love and cherish are a beautiful part of the foundation of home, one that I could never live without. The final piece of the foundation of home is the feelings that I feel at home. The warm feeling of love that spreads through my body when I hug my parents. Joy that moves from person to person when one of my family members achieves something. Even the sadness that occurs when a loved one is hurt. All of these feelings plus many more is the sense of home a part of the foundation of home. As long as I'm with the people I love, the memories I share with them and the feelings I have. My home can be anywhere because a heart can be anywhere. My heart is my home.
