The Meaning of Home for Me

Take a step into my house. You might just see a house, but I see my home. You may see that one dent or the pet hair all over the place. You may think it is weird but, I think it is home. To me, a part of the meaning of home is the land. Whenever I am in nature, I feel at home, from the birds chirping to the feel of moss on my bare feet. I do not only feel at home at my house. I feel at home on the road. I do a lot of travel for hockey, and I have been to big cities and small towns, but my favorite places are the ones closest to nature. Whether it be the fields and prairies of southern Manitoba or camping in the rocky hills in Ontario, land is home. Home is also where I grew up. I have always lived in the house I live in now. I have so many memories of my home. When my parents got there, it was just a house and then we changed it to make it our home. When we first got the house, it had this flooring. I remember how my grandpa helped my dad. Me, my mom, my grandma, and the little guy James had stayed in the toy room. My house is my home. Home is also family. We play Games, shoot pucks, and watch movies are all things we do as a family but, I also feel at home with my grandparents, shopping with my grandma or playing games with my grandpa. Home is family and all the things we do together. Through building memories and making it ours my family took a house and made it a home.
