To Me Home Is

To me, a home is a space that I share with my family where we can all feel safe. A home is a space where we can freely express ourselves without feeling ashamed and without being judged. I can joke, be silly, laugh, or cry. A home is the place I can be cared for when I am unwell or when I am scared. It is also a space where I can share my dreams and hope that my family will help me make some of those dreams come true one day. My home is a place where I learn, where I work hard to improve, where I get criticized, but also where I am loved, appreciated, and valued for who I am. My home is a space of possibilities, where I get to express my thoughts and opinions, where my family members help me make sense of the world around me, and where we talk about what is wrong with our world and how we can make it better. My home is a place where I learn, I grow, and I belong. To me a home is what every human being has the right to. Having a home is about dignity.
