My Home

In the spring, I touch my pet’s hair that lightly rubs against my skin. As I taste the cookies at my sister's tea party, I hear my dad playing the guitar. I was smelling a tulip, then I saw a robin fly over my head and towards her nest to feed her babies. As I fall asleep I think tomorrow will be a good day. In the summer, when I wake up I can hear my dad cutting the grass. As I walk downstairs, I smell the fresh cut grass. Then I taste the ice cap my mom bought me from Tim Hortons. As I jump into the pool with my Mom, Dad, and sister I touch the water feet first. After dinner I see the fire crackling in the fire pit, while being snuggled under a blanket reading a book. On other nights I might have a movie night with my family, while I crochet. In the fall, I see my Dad making a fort for my sister and I, while I touch the pastel blanket I'm crocheting. I hear my dad coming home from work, as I walk out the door to greet him I smell the bright red and orange leaves falling off the trees. I taste spicy homemade chili that my mom just made; it tastes delicious. As I fall asleep that night I feel safe on a very windy night. In the winter, I smell the hot gooey brownies fresh from the oven. I touched the snow that my sister threw at me during our snowball fight. I can see the cars out my window driving by, as we taste the sushi at our New Year’s party. I feel warm under a blanket watching the snow fall. The seasons of my home.
