My Home

Home, a special place where all feel welcome, safe, and warm. How I long to come home after a tiresome day to the aroma of freshly baked lasagna filling the air. I would walk into the brightly lit kitchen to see my dad smiling back at me. My brothers and I would help set the table and we would all eat dinner together. After, I would sit down on our fluffy couch where my small cat would join me. As I start to pet her, she would start to purr. I feel her soft fur against my skin. This does not last for long though my cat heard her dinner clinking against her bowl. “No!” I would shout but she was already gone. Without the warm presence of my cat, I would fetch a blanket and cuddle with my mom. With nothing to do I would ask my mom “can we watch TV?” My mom would say “only if you and your brothers agree.” I would role my eyes, my brothers would take the remote and go straight to the kid’s channel. “Come on we watch this every day I’d say.” My mom would say “how about a documentary about animals?” we would all agree. Finally, it is time for bed. I fall asleep know that in my home I am safe, I can be myself, and I can feel my emotions, and last but not least I am loved.
