What Home Means to Me

Home is not just a place with two walls and a roof. It’s a place with peace. It’s not a place where love ceases. My dad’s words of knowledge will guide me into the right place. When my mom embraces me with love, peace and warmth. It’s a place where sometimes it is quiet but then it’s boisterous with laughter. My mom’s cozy hugs help me when I’m sad which make me feel loved. My dad’s delicious rice cakes create an aroma that makes our family come together at the dining table. It’s a place where my heart can rest because I know that anything I do will be forgiven with love. It’s a place where I sometimes feel solitude but I always know that I'm loved by my family. At night, we play our ethnic traditional games which makes our home full of laughter. The walls are full of pictures that give us wonderful memories of the past. A place where my brothers’ annoying actions bring me laughter. It’s a place where I can share laughter and memories with my family, night and day, weeks and weekends. My mom and my dad always show love for me, so I should show it back. It’s a place where everyone is welcomed and I wish everyone had the chance to have it. When my heart is separated into pieces, what glues it together is my home and my family.
