A House is Not a Home

Having a calm and happy life, with a happy family is difficult when you have to move to an unknown house, and getting used to that house is even more difficult when you don’t like it much the same as your old home. Eventually I managed to get used to that new home. It became a place where laughter could arise, and me and my family could eat warm, comforting meals at the dinner table. A safe haven once again. Moving again. Parents divorced, and I’m not able to talk with my siblings much. Though, once it’s happened once, I might as well have gotten used to it. Another house turned into another home. Meals are still warm and comforting, and my siblings come over every once in a while to enjoy those meals together. Warm meals, a warm bed, a place where laughter and love can go afloat. But leaving another safe haven is tiring. I moved again. But now I can finally re-enjoy warm, comforting meals, as well as joy, laughter and love with my family once again. Home is a place for love and happiness to flourish, where you can eat warm meals, and sleep in a comfy bed. While a new house can be frightening, it can still be as loving as a new home. Dear Habitat For Humanity, I hope more people will get to enjoy warm meals and happy times with their family in their new homes. Just like the rest of us.
