A New Home

One day, in 1889, in southern Brazil, a poor family ate dinner in their small hut. They talked about how their day went. They were a family of 4. One mom, named Sarah, one dad, named Jim, and two daughters, named Kelly and Luna. They missed their dad a lot and they wished he was home. Their dad was away working in Chile and their mom worked around their hut and kept her children fed and safe. The next morning, a stranger stopped by while their mom was working in their small garden. Kelly and Luna both opened the door and they got pulled outside and onto a horse. They were scared. They got blindfolded and rode off. After about 1 hour, they reached the horse depot. They then switched horses for faster ones and rode off across Brazil. After a while, they heard a noise. There was another sound of hooves beside them. They heard their mom yelling at the strangers and then they suddenly tumbled off the horse. They sat up off the ground. Their blindfolds were then undone and they saw their mother. They cried and soon they were walking back. Half the way there, they saw smoke far in the distance. It was coming from their hut. When they got there, their house was destroyed. It looked as if a fire had burned it down. There was no belongings in their burnt house so it must’ve been raided. They were so sad. They’d had everything they needed and now it was gone. They then used their neighbours phone to contact Habitat for Humanity. Jeremy, a worker there, answered, and 1 month later they moved into a new house. Their dad then moved in 2 weeks later and he was delighted. The end.
