The Meaning of Home.
To me, home is more than four walls of bricks, a few windows and a roof over my head, home is a place of safety and joy with my family accompanying me.
Home has a lot of senses, some different and some similar. With hearing and sight, smell and touch/feel I can give you a taste of what I think of my home!
Home feels like my cozy blanket keeping me warm as I rest during the night.
Home smells like my mom’s fresh homemade croissants that she makes for me, my sisters, baby brother and dad to enjoy.
Home sounds like the laughter of me and my three siblings (Caithleen, Cassandra and Calvin) playing together on a joyful weekday after school.
Home tastes like my mom’s warm champurrado (rice with chocolate) that is smooth and gives me the much-needed energy to start of the day.
Home looks like me and my family spending time with each other, watching movies, eating snacks together and creating memories that last forever.
Home is where memories are made and kept alive. Home is a foundation of love and family and not some bricks and cement. Home is a light, a special light that eliminates the darkness and fear away.
Home is a wonderful thing to have, like I just said, but for those who do not have a home, Habitat for Humanity is a guiding star for them! Habitat gives hope to those who don’t have, and with the help of donations you can help them too!
