The Meaning of Home

A house is the place you stay. A home is the place inside the house, inside the walls The place for memories of family, friends, loved ones and you can cherish something as little as getting out of your bed in the morning and hearing the bird's squawk. The more you live in your home the more you realize if you had to wake up in the middle of the night pitch black upstairs or downstairs you can find your way to the door. A home is more than shelter, it's your palace, sanctuary. A place to feel relieved and sometimes you need a push so get back up again I love pools and when I was a young boy, we bought a pool, and we called the fire department, and they took 5 hours to fill it. I remember Mr. Young was there and the whole Magnetawan Fire Department was there and when they filled it up, I jumped in with my dad and it made a big splash. Then my brothers jumped in, and it was fun. But my grandparents told me to do a flip underwater and I was the opposite of buoyant and I being three years old I couldn’t swim so I was stuck like a turtle in its shell... UNDER THE WATER. I was there for around thirty to forty seconds with no air. But I pushed through, kicked my legs under my bottom, and made it above water. My brother said, “I'm surprised you made it out alive” and I said, “yeah I'm pretty cool”. This is one of my most memorable “home” moments. Thats why my home is important to me.
