What a home really is

What if I told you that house prices have gone up 8.1% since 2022? But a house is not a home, though it's normally a key part in one. A house is made with brick, wood, and shingles, where a home is made with love, friends, and family. Home is where you feel safe and loved and too many people don’t have a place like that. Your home could be a house, a tent, school, or maybe a car. So what are the main ingredients to make a home? First, family is the heart of a home, the core, the source. They’ll always be there for you, at your side. They share everything with you, teaching you how to walk and talk. They’re all the motivation you need to keep yourself going. Family is the key piece in the great puzzle that makes a home. Next, the only ship that will never be matched in strength and survive more storms than any other will always be… a friendship. Many of them will probably be temporary. Though some cannot be sunk even by the iceberg that brought down the Titanic. They are the best gifts someone can receive. In the end a good friend will stay by your side. Last but not least, a shelter is the solid part of a home, the container that holds all the intangible parts. It’s where all the best memories can come from. Your shelter is where you should feel calmest and safest. But most importantly, it’s where you spend time with family. It’s hard to have a home without somewhere for it. So houses and homes are different things, but most homes involve a house in some way. And the fact that there are good people who don't have a place to call home is one of the saddest around. Everyone deserves a home, a place to feel safe, content, at peace, because a home isn't a luxury, it's a right!
