The Senses of Home

Home is a place where you can be yourself. I like to refer to home as five senses. Home looks like big family breakfasts where everyone is talking and having fun. Where me and my sister talk about basketball and my mom and dad talk about us playing basketball. Where I have big pool parties with my cousins and where me and my best friend play ball and then when we get hot, we jump in the pool. Home tastes like taco Tuesday and Thursday where my mom makes delicious guacamole. And I have a wonderful taco salad. Home tastes like New Years sushi on video call with my aunt and my great grandma and my aunt’s wife. Home sounds like me raging when I stub my toe. Home smells like new sports equipment that I get so excited about. Home feels like me in my soft bed looking at the posters in my room when Curry says night night. Home is full of laughter, smiles, conversation and joy. Home is the place where I sleep, eat and play all day. I thank Habitat for Humanity for helping all the people who have nowhere to stay because you give them a place to sleep and eat.
