A Safe Place

Home for me is where I can escape A place where I can go and deflate It is a setting where the gate is always open And I can always be certain I will be chosen It isn't a specific spot nor a specific person Home is a feeling I can always come back to Where I am loved and am belonged I am at peace and can calm my mind At home everything goes away Like a special getaway Peace can stream through my mind like a calming river And I can go whenever So next time you go home, go soak it all up Enjoy all the time with your loved ones And maybe get a hug But don't forget to have some fun Once all these boxes are ticked off And Ii'm surrounded by the people I love I feel at home I then know I am at home
