The Feeling of Home

When I push the doorbell next to my front door, I get accepted and greeted into my home where I feel joy like I am in a candy store. I feel warmth surge into me, and with that warmth the darkness and cold flee. I step onto my porch floor, I smell the scent of tacos and more. I feel free to talk and play, with nothing but giggles all the way. In my home we like to have movie nights, it makes me feel like we’re in a theater with big lights. We curl up on our couch to watch a show, with feelings of love that shall not go. My home is not just a place we live in, it is a place to talk and also to listen. We make memories, do the dishes, play hockey and more, we share the feeling of joy galore. In my home chaos comes and chaos goes, bringing feelings of highs and lows. I feel joyful and sometimes a little mad, but my family will help me banish the bad. When I look at my home, I feel joy as if I were a cute little gnome. When I look at my home I get a sensation of excited, like when your friend has a party and you just got invited. I see light pouring out of the windows all day long, the way you feel when your family turns on your favorite song. That light will make you feel warm inside, like when you swim in a perfect cooling tide. When I look at my house I see my glowing Christmas tree, with my family and I gathered around it… on our faces a look of glee. Or my grandpa with a big smile on is face because we got him that tool kit, maybe us playing a board game with our faces all lit. My parents, my sister and I share our home, my parents absorb our feelings like foam. My parents will make us feel better, whenever we feel sad or angry, like all it takes for them is to turn their special key. With all of that to say, I think that being in my home will make anyone have a better day. I think that the feeling of joy is the true meaning of my home, it makes me feel like I'm stargazing on a night with a lot of gloam. I am grateful for Habitat For Humanity, especially in this world where sometimes it feels like there is no gravity. They help people to get a home, who wouldn’t otherwise be prone.
