A Poem About Home

Home is where I feel accepted and best protected. Home is where my best memories lay. Home is where I sometimes cry. I feel blessed to have a home so that makes me happy. Not every family has a home and some buildings are just left to roam. Everybody deserves a home, not a tent, not a shelter, but a place to call home. I believe everybody deserves a place to stay and share moments that will make their day. Nobody should have to call a street a living place and say they don't live in a safe, accessible place. And people in this situation often feel in isolation, and this has me in devastation. Habitat for Humanity is a wonderful foundation, that helps build homes all across the nation. It shouldn't have to matter the person, it should just have to matter about their situation. I really wish I had the solution to make this issue come to a conclusion. I hope this will all one day come to an end, so I write this poem hoping for an amend.
