Meaning of Home

Home is where I feel safe. It has little imperfections, but that’s what makes it feel like home. Sometimes I have bad days at school, but when I come home, I’m happy. The smell of homemade soup fills the air, with a tint of the smell of wood coming from the basement. My fluffy cat sits on the stairs and waits for me to give her food. I feel happy when me and my family and family friends go sledding in the park in the winter, and in the summer we would all go to the beach and build sandcastles together. I love watching my brother's hockey games, and I cheer for him on the stands. Me and my brother love making snow forts and having snowball fights in our backyard in the winter. I love watching my older brother wrestle my twin brother, my twin brother always looses and he giggles on the floor, it makes me laugh so hard. My favourite part of the week is playing tennis. Even if I’m losing or winning, my dad will always smile at me through the watching window. I love when my mom bakes pies and cinnamon buns. I love helping my mom cook and bake, and she teaches me the secret to such good food! I feel cozy when me and my family sit down to watch a movie or play a board game. I always get a blanket and me and my brother make popcorn to share. A home isn’t just a house, it’s family and friends, it’s a special place, it’s a food or a picture, it could even be a book. All homes aren’t the same, but this is what feels like home to me.
