What Is Home?

Home is a very loving place Somewhere that you can feel safe “Why do we need home?” You may ask Home is where you can take off your mask That’s covering up your true self And let out everything that you have felt Home is where you learn and play But it’s also a place where you have to obey You eat, sleep, hug and laugh If you were happy, we could see it in one single photograph If I’m having a bad day My family would say that it’s okay Because they are my home And they’d love me even over the telephone Even if sometimes I get in trouble That doesn’t pop our relationship bubble Home makes me feel happy Not just me, but everybody Because the meaning of the words: ‘‘Home’’ and ‘‘house’’ are different A house is just a building, But home is normally permanent Home isn’t just a house It’s parents, siblings and if you have one, your spouse My home is something I’m very thankful for Because it’s not something that you can buy at a store Outside, I’m judged, and they’d tell me to scram At home I feel accepted for who I am
