Home: The Place I Love

Home isn’t just a big box with a roof and a door- it's a wonderful feeling that reminds me of my loving family, my mom, my dad, and my brother. Home is where I feel free; away from judgment and hatred. Home is where I’m loud, rather than shy and quiet. Home is where the lovely smell of my mom’s Chinese food fills the kitchen, and me and my brother play games. It’s where I hear my parents say nice things about me, and I share my favorite memories with my family, like the first time we visited Toronto. Home is the place I feel the most comfortable. It’s also the perfect place to grab a good book and lie down, and, most importantly, it’s where my family’s love never fades. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for offering new homes to those who need them, and the contest, for letting children support those who are in need of a home.
