Home is Where the Memories Go

Home is where the fire glows, the light shines on our faces, and we sit on the tiled floor, laugh, cry, play, and tie up the mini-hockey score. It's a place where we feel safe, loved, and accepted. No matter where we go or what we do, home is always where we want to return. I remember coming inside on a cold winter day and smelling the aroma of a warm meal cooking on the stove. The kitchen is the heart of our home. It is where we gathered to share our stories, our laughter, and our tears. The smell of home-cooked food was always comforting, even something as simple as a cold glass of water on a hot, sunny day. I sat at the table with my family, my dad's voice ringing out as he said grace before the meal. I wondered what people would say to me if I ever had to leave home. I wondered if my home was just so far away from others because I had more than one. It's hard to say, but I know that wherever I go, I will always have a home. because it is not just sticks and stones or bricks it is just the heart. As we finished our meal, we cleaned up together, and I remembered the mini-hockey game we played earlier that day. We tied up the score, and I couldn't help but smile at the memory. Home is where we make memories that last a lifetime. I went to bed that night feeling grateful for my home and everything it represented. The fire may have gone out, and the light may have faded, but the warmth and love that filled our home would remain. Home is truly where the heart is.
