What Home Means to Me

Home is somewhere you laugh, somewhere you cry, somewhere you make memories, and put them into frames that will last forever. Home is a place you look forward to being, a place where the sweet smells of vanilla candles dance and swirl in the air. It’s somewhere you feel safe, like being in your own little castle where the walls are like strong shoulders. It’s somewhere you feel safe telling your secrets while your mom's banana bread is baking in the oven. A place where the floors and sanded down from dancing like leaves in the wind. A place where you can relax and let all your worries melt away. It’s a place with books of laughter and sadness. It’s somewhere you have game nights that seem to last forever. Home is a place with so many memories in it, you would lose track if you were to count. A place your sibling runs up and down the hallways but doesn’t dare go down in the dark basement. But with the flick of a switch, it is a place where you feel safe. It could be raining cats and dogs outside, but you are warm and safe near the crackling fire. Thank you to Habitat for Humanity for giving people a chance to have their own pictures in frames that will never go away.
