My Home

In my house there are cookies always baking in the oven. Hot chocolate fresh off the kettle. The wonderful smells of the food cooking in the kitchen. While we watch movies all snuggled up on the couch, the sounds of popcorn filling the air. When my brother tells jokes and all laughter breaks out. Ice cream on my lips cold and creamy. As the kettle goes off and we laugh. I feel safe, I feel loved, I feel happy. I feel the cold bars in my backyard while I swing on to the next. In the early mornings fresh pancakes and maple syrup lie on my plate, the syrup drizzling down my pancakes slowly, beautifully and peacefully. Coming inside on a cold winter day the warmness of the house hugging me, so cool, so sweet, so relaxing. Home is a place to go when you're sad or mad or even when you're happy you can talk about your feelings. It is a safe place. Home is cozy, sweet, soft like a blanket that wraps around you, and cuddly like a stuffed bear. Home is where you go to be with the ones you love to be with the ones special to you. I hear my brother cry, while I'm going to bed. I hear little feet on the floor, I hear the wind coming through my window. I see my drapes suck against my window when the rain comes pouring in. Crashes through the night when thunder strikes. Calm, sweet, safe, loved, joyful, cool, nice that's what home is to me.
