The Meaning of Home

A house is not a home. A house is a building. Held by rebar, filled with insulation, molded with bricks and wood, and sealed with walls and carpet. A house is a building. Designed to hold people within its walls and shield them from the outside. A house is not a home. A home is a place where friends and family gather to play games, eat freshly cooked food, and laugh. A home is a place of happiness, care, and safety. A home doesn’t need to be a house. It can be a tent, an apartment room, a mansion, it can even be a shack. It doesn’t matter where home is. It will always be the place you can spend precious time with family. A home’s purpose. What is a home’s purpose? Some would say it’s a shelter from the rage of the rain, some would say it’s a place where they can play with their toys and games, some would say it’s a building filled to the brim with love and emotions, some would say it’s the place where the best cookies come from, some would say it’s where they hugged each other in tough times, some would say it’s a building with rebar and insulation, some would say it’s a factory for happiness, some would say it’s a safe spot where they can curl up in a blanket and get some rest, some say it’s where everyone sits down at the dinner table and pray. So, what is a home’s true purpose. A home’s true purpose is all of these. A place to play, pray, eat, hug, love, cook, gatherer, and so on. A home’s purpose is truly unlimited.
