What Does Home Mean To Me?

What I call home may be different from others. A house is the building that we live in but doesn’t necessarily mean we feel at home. What brings me joy, and what I call my home, is the place where I smile and laugh every day, the place where I’ve made countless memories, and the place that has brought me closer to those who have immense value in my life, that place being school. Yes, I must agree, school can be quite boring and honestly, I’d much rather be sleeping, but the warm feeling that I get inside my stomach, and the number of fun times I’ve had has made all those boring hours' worth it. When I’m at school I feel safe, and once I enter my classroom every morning, whether I’m having a bad day or not, a smile instantly rushes to my face and an emotion of happiness and joy hits me faster than a bullet. Home is the feeling of not being judged, having the feeling of acceptance, and having the knowledge that there are people who will be there for you no matter what. Another reason I consider school my home is because of the freedom to be yourself and not having to worry about others judging you. School can be a fun place filled with opportunities to reach outside your comfort zone and try something new, to meet new friends, and to find your passion, and that is why my home is school.
