Home is a Place of Love

Belonging is what home is to me.When I feel I belong it is the taste of moms warm banana chocolate chip muffins on a cold day with the snow sprinkling carefully down to the ground. It's the aroma of buttery popcorn on family movie night snuggling close together with my soft cat on my lap. Being loved is what home is to me. When I get home I know my cat will be waiting for me with her big gentle eyes. I pet her soft and silky fur and her purrs tell me I’m loved. When I go to bed and do my bedtime routine I know hugs and ‘’I love yous’’ are always available. Safe is what home is to me. It's warm sheets that have just been cleaned waiting on my bed. It's healthy food in the fridge and my parents coming into the dark lighting it up with joy. If I have a cut or sting my parents will be there with a bandaid. Acceptance is what home is to me. School is a place where I have to be my best. But at home I don't have to act properly and I can be impolite, selfish and sneaky but I know my parents still love me. Celebrations are what home is to me. On Christmas I get our stockings and bring them to our living room. The snow flutters slowly around in the bright blue sky. When my parents finally wake up we open up our colorful stockings for the presents inside. Life is what home is to me. It's when my dad is downstairs working on renovations. Its my mom making a delicious dinner. And I am playing with my cat, bugging my mom, or playing lego. In my home It's a place of,laughter, smiles, acceptance and more but the most important, love. My home is a place where I can feel comforted, warm and cozy. This is my meaning of home.
