Home, The Place I Belong

My home has a family that brings joy and laughter every day. We enjoy special times together with our big fluffy dog. My younger brother and I happily play and bounce on our long, brown couch as our parents prepare a filling and healthy dinner. The food I eat fills my stomach with warmth and happiness as I eat hungrily off my plate. My home is a place where I can be myself and I can do almost anything I want to do and speak my own language without anyone teasing and laughing at me. I have healthy, fresh food stacked up in my kitchen and warm, washed clothes to wear that keep me very warm on the coldest winter days. My home is warm and cozy as we light a beautiful dancing fire on a cold winter day. We tightly cuddle together In the warmest spot near the bright, burning fire, as we wait for a large box of warm cheese pizza to arrive at the front door. As we wait we read books, tell stories and prepare clean washed plates and silver cutlery on a cozy blanket. My home is full of love in every corner and space in sight. Even when someone is being mean or rude, we always find a way to solve the problem. We slowly talk about mistakes and help in any way we can. When I tuck into my large warm bed at the end of a long and tiring day I snuggle and remind myself that there are always “I love you”s and cuddles from my parents available any time I feel like I need it. When I walk through the big front door of my home, I suddenly feel relaxed and welcomed in. My heart slowly beats as I enter my home. I feel like I belong, I feel comfortable, with healthy food in my stomach and warm clothes tight and cozy against my skin. My large black and brown german shepherd dog greets me by brushing her wet, black nose across my leg. My home is like no other home. When I am in it, I feel different. I feel like I can be myself. I feel like I belong. Sometimes I feel like this in other places, but in my home I feel like I belong the most.
