What home means to me

If you ask someone what a home is, they’ll probably say it’s a place where you can eat, sleep and play video games. Um, no. You’re talking about a house. I’m talking about a home. A house is just a building. A home is a special place. Here, let me explain. First, home is a place where you can feel safe and loved and where you can be yourself. A place where you can be as crazy as you want, and no one is there to judge you. Home is a place where you can make memories, good and bad. At night, you can go to sleep and have beautiful dreams. And when you wake up, you’ll be ready for what the day brings you. Secondly, home is where you can do things with your family. Whether you like to do pillow fights, dress up or play video games. Everything's better with family. If you want to live by yourself, it can get kind of lonely. Sure, you can invite your friends, but it’s not the same as family. And you can do fun things with your siblings if you have any. Sure, it can get chaotic, but as long as you have fun, that’s the main thing. Same with your pets if you have any. All in all, you know what a home is now. And I thank Habitat For Humanity for building and giving homes to people in need as a gift. I also wish that more people could donate materials and help with the building process to build more homes. Thank you Habitat For Humanity and thank you for having the time to read my letter.
